The New Wave of Video-on-the-Go

Bob Greene, SVP of Advanced Services, Starz Entertainment Group

TV and movies anywhere, anytime, on any device…consumers are expecting nothing less these days. Now a new breed of video download services is addressing the demand, offering video over the Internet for playback on everything from Windows PCs to TVs to portable media devices.

But delivering video content over the Internet requires significant orchestration of media technologies and digital rights management so that subscribers receive the highest-quality playback experience while protecting the property rights of Hollywood studios so that they will continue to offer their finest films and shows. Because in the end, the service provider offering the best video library of quality first run and classic films and content will own the market.

This session will give attendees an overview on the market opportunities and business challenges for the emerging downloadable video on the go market. It will cover business and distribution models, DRM and content ownership issues, and will provide a vision of what consumers can expect in the future.
